“Canna Get a 2nd Chance” Cannabis Career Fair
40Tons Career Fair This Thursday, Sept. 2nd at 2pm in Hawthorne, CA
My friends at 40Tons organized this incredible restorative justice event to help the LA area, right at Hawthorne City Hall!
Their goal with the “Canna Get a 2nd Chance” Cannabis Career Fair is to bring more diversity & inclusion of minorities and people of color to the LA workforce AND to help provide second chances to those that have been affected by past cannabis convictions.
They’ve partnered with East-coast company, Brand Resumes, which helps job seekers to become more career-ready.
From interview coaching to LinkedIn optimization, Brand Resumes helps candidates to up their game.
So not only will attendees be able to submit their resumes for jobs in the cannabis industry, they’ll also be able to spruce up their resume right on the spot with the help of the Brand Resumes team.
And even if you’ve never setup your LinkedIn profile before, you’ll be able to do so on site.
They’ve even brought in a photographer for the event to offer attendees free professional headshots!

There will also be a panel of successful cannabis entrepreneurs speaking on how the cannabis career landscape will be evolving in coming years, as well as what skills & leadership traits cannabis companies are looking for.

Plus there will be lawyers on stand-by from Minorities 4 Medical Marijuana’s Project Clean Slate running an expungement clinic!!
Project Clean Slate will be on site to discuss the process for expungement, reviewing charges, and providing resources to those affected by nonviolent medical cannabis offenses.
And as if all of this isn’t incredible enough, they’ll also be raffling off 12 scholarships to Oaksterdam University.
