Rihanna’s Sideshow Explained
How Did The Chiefs & The Eagles Make It To The Big Game?
The Rihanna concert is TODAY! I can't wait. I know you can’t wait.
But, there is also a football game happening. And once upon a time, I also did not understand the complexities of football.
But now I do, and I want to teach you because I know how frustrating it is to your boyfriend or your girlfriend or somebody who's yelling at the screen—you don't know what's going on.
If you don’t know much about the game, you’re probably wondering…..
How do these two teams even make it to the Big Game?
Have no fear. I'm here to help. Today I’m going to explain it.
So not only can you enjoy the Rihanna concert, you can also enjoy the sideshow that is the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Eagles.
So first, you have to make the playoffs.
But, how do you even make the playoffs?
Okay, so the NFL is composed of 32 teams. And those 32 teams are split down the middle with 16 in each conference.
So these two conferences are called the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC).
These 16 teams are then further divided into divisions: North, South, East and West.
You have the NFC East, the NFC West, NFC North, and NFC South.
And you have the same thing for the American Football Conference: AFC North, West, East and South.
So, 12 teams have the opportunity to make it to the playoffs. Each divisional champion, meaning the NFC East champion, NFC North champion, and so on. Same for the AFC.
Once the playoffs begin, there is bracket play.
This means that NFC teams are going to all play each other until they make it to the end and become the NFC champion.
And the same thing is going to happen in the AFC.
Then, the NFC champion and the AFC champion get to meet and play each other at the Big Game to determine the ultimate champion! 👍
