The Indica vs. Sativa Myths Stop Here 🖐️

Let's bust some common myths about these two & talk about what you should pay attention to instead.

You’ve likely heard plenty of rumors about Indica and Sativa, and how they affect us differently.

But today, we’re talking about the science behind these two types of cannabis—and a better way to tell how any cannabis will affect your body.

Many associate Indica with more of a sleepy high. An easy way to remember this is INdica keeps you INside. Whereas Sativa is known for a more energetic buzz.

The truth is that these effects have nothing to do with the strain, and everything to do with the terpenes present in the plant.

Terpenes, the scent-producing essential oils found in almost all plants, have unique medicinal properties and are in large part responsible for the kind of high you will experience.

So the next time you go to light up, first, take a deep breath and SMELL IT.

If you’re smelling something lemon-y, this likely indicates the presence of limonene—a natural antidepressant!

If the bud has a more earthy smell, it will likely give you a relaxed, grounded feeling.

However, the only way to know for sure, is to consciously pay attention to how it affects your body. Cannabis journaling is a great way to do this!

By paying attention, you’ll start to learn what type of terpenes your body likes.

So the next time you go shopping, instead of paying attention to strain names & THC percentages, let your nose lead the way!

Learn the science behind how cannabis affects our bodies in my Cannabis 101 course. In just 6 weeks, you’ll become fluent in the language of this plant!
