The One Thing That Separates Hemp From Cannabis
What Is Hemp? And Why Does It Look So Much Like Cannabis?
Why does hemp look so much like cannabis?
They are a part of the same family. In fact, a hemp plant is just a sativa plant that contains 0.3% or less THC!
Consequently, they’re often grown for very different uses.
Both plants are grown for medicine—CBD products are derived from both kinds of plants—but hemp is grown for THOUSANDS more uses than that!
Fuel, lotions, shampoo, food, rope, textiles, clothing, paper products, bioplastics, insulation, livestock feed & bedding…the list goes on!
Hemp is so useful that, in 1619, the Virginia Assembly required that all households produce hemp—and it was even accepted as a form of currency.
So while hemp and cannabis share some medicinal properties & uses, hemp has many more uses than cannabis.
And the main difference between hemp & cannabis? It’s the THC content.
Everything else, including the CBD content, is the same!
