What’s Lurking In Your Hemp Products?
Why It's Vital to Source Clean Hemp
Did you know that hemp is really effective at cleaning up contaminated soil, air, and water?
That’s because hemp is a powerful phytoremediator.
Phytoremediators are plants that reduce concentrations of toxins in the environment by breaking them down or soaking them up!
In the case of hemp, it’s very effective at filtering contaminants and heavy metals—like nickel, cadmium, selenium, and lead—out of the soil.
Hemp is even effective at cleaning up nuclear radiation!
This isn’t a bad thing. In addition to cleaning up our soil, this makes hemp an ideal biofuel since it’s rich in heavy metals.
However, this does mean we have to be very careful in sourcing our hemp.
Ideally, any hemp product we plan to ingest should be grown organically and from a reputable grower that upholds soil testing standards.
And that doesn’t just mean hemp we plan to eat—it’s also about sourcing clean rolling papers too!
It may seem like a small thing, but it’s so important for our health that we avoid ingesting more toxins and heavy metals unnecessarily.
